Privacy notice

Your data, in plain words.

This is the notice the law asks us to give you, written to be actually read. Everything below is what the product really does, nothing more.

01  What we collect, and why

Your phone number

To sign you in with a one-time code. Stored encrypted, with a blind index for lookup.

Your intake answers

Marriage details, incomes, children, and your situation, to compute your roadmap. Stored encrypted on your case.

Your positions on issues

To find the overlap with your spouse. Encrypted, and never shown to the other side.

Messages you send in a case

So the two of you can talk calmly in one place. Encrypted at rest.

Tool inputs and results

So your tools remember you. Categorical and numeric values only, never free text.

Safety signals

If what you write suggests risk, a screening record is kept so a human can help. This protects you and cannot be waived.

We do not collect what we do not need: no contacts, no location, no browsing history, no advertising identifiers. Anonymous use of the reading and the simulator stores nothing unless you choose to save.

02  How it is kept

Sensitive fields are encrypted at rest, with the keys held separately from the data. You can download everything we hold, or erase it, at any time from Settings.

Nothing you write is used to train AI models, and nothing is sold or shared for advertising. Ever.

Your spouse sees only what the product is built to reveal: the overlap you both chose to look for, and messages you send. Never your private positions or your intake.

An advocate sees your case brief only after you share your code with them, and never your spouse's private positions.

If a breach affecting you ever occurs, you will be told without delay, plainly, along with what we did about it.

03  Your rights, and the button for each

Access

Download everything we hold about you from Settings, any time.

Correction

Your intake and positions are yours to edit inside your case.

Erasure

Delete your account and personal data from Settings. If your matter has been filed in court, erasure waits until it closes, as the law requires.

Consent withdrawal

Every consent you grant (sharing with your spouse, sharing with an advocate) is listed in Settings and can be withdrawn.

Grievance

Write to grievance@unknots.ai. We respond within the timelines the DPDP Rules set.

Nomination

You may nominate someone to exercise these rights for you; write to the grievance address to set it up.
